Jindera Solar Farm is…
an exciting opportunity to sustainably generate around 275,000 MWh per year of GHG emission-free electricity which is enough renewable energy to power around 65,000 Australian homes. The proposal would save about 92,000 tonnes of GHG emissions per year.
Green Switch Australia…
With over 20 years’ experience of working in the renewable energies industry in the UK, Europe, Africa and Australia, Green Switch is a provider of both renewable energy and energy storage solutions.
Green Switch Australia proposes to develop a large scale solar farm approximately 4 kilometres north of Jindera, NSW. The project is located across two landholdings within the Greater Hume Local Government Area.
The Jindera Solar Farm will occupy approximately 337 hectares of land currently used for stock grazing and cultivation. The proposed solar farm includes tracking solar arrays, a substation and energy storage. The solar farm would connect to the existing substation, to the south east of the project site that is operated by TransGrid.
The Development Application was accepted by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment in October 2019. The Jindera Solar Farm Environmental Impact Statement and specialist reports were publicly exhibited for 28 days from 16th October to 13th November 2019.
Jindera Solar Farm has now completed their Response to Submissions and Amendment Reports with further Requests for Information and wait for DPIE’s recommendation. These documents have been uploaded to the Major Projects Portal.
